- 2 tsp (10ml) pure vanilla extract
- 2 ¼ cups (280g) all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp (5g) baking soda
- ½ tsp (3g) salt
- 2 cups (340g) semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1 cup (125g) chopped walnuts or peanuts
Instructions:
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line your baking sheets with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until the mixture is pale and fluffy.
- Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking soda, and salt.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, stirring until just combined.
- Stir in the semi-sweet chocolate chips and chopped walnuts or peanuts until just combined; do not overmix.
- Scoop rounded tablespoons of dough onto the prepared baking sheets, spacing them 2 inches apart.
- Bake for 10 to 12 minutes until the edges are a deep golden brown but the centers still look slightly soft and underbaked.
- Remove from oven and let the cookies firm up on the hot pan before transferring to a wire cooling rack.
