Ingredients:

  • 1 cup grass-fed beef tallow (approx. 200g)
  • 3 tablespoons carrier oil such as Jojoba, Sweet Almond, or Olive oil (approx. 42g)
  • 30 drops essential oils (approx. 1.5g)

Instructions:

  1. Place the purified grass-fed tallow in a double boiler over medium-low heat. Stir occasionally until completely liquid and clear.
  2. Remove the melted tallow from heat and stir in your chosen carrier oil (jojoba, olive, or almond oil) until well combined.
  3. Transfer the mixture to a glass mixing bowl and place in the refrigerator for 30–60 minutes until it reaches a semi-solid 'fingerprint stage' (opaque but soft).
  4. Add your preferred essential oils to the semi-solid mixture.
  5. Using an electric hand mixer or stand mixer, start on low speed and gradually increase to high. Whip for 5–8 minutes until the mixture turns brilliant white and forms stiff peaks like marshmallow fluff.
  6. Transfer the whipped balm into clean, dry glass storage jars using a rubber spatula.
