Ingredients:
- 3 (15 oz) cans cut canned green beans (Drained and rinsed)
- 2 slices bacon, diced
- ½ large yellow onion, thinly sliced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 Tbsp butter
- ¼ cup chicken or vegetable broth
Instructions:
- Drain and thoroughly rinse the canned green beans under cold water for at least 60 seconds to remove excess brine and metallic flavor. Set aside.
- In a large skillet, render the diced bacon over medium-high heat until crisp. Remove the crisp bacon bits and reserve them, leaving the rendered fat in the pan.
- Add the sliced onion to the bacon fat and sauté for 2-3 minutes until soft and beginning to caramelize. Add the minced garlic and butter, cooking until the garlic is fragrant (about 30 seconds).
- Add the drained and rinsed green beans and the ¼ cup of broth to the skillet. Increase heat to high and toss rapidly for 1-2 minutes, allowing the beans to heat through and absorb the flavor base.
- Serve immediately, garnished with the reserved crisp bacon bits.
