Ingredients:
- 1.5 lbs cube steak
- 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1/2 cup whole wheat flour
- 1 tsp smoked paprika
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp onion powder
- 1/2 tsp cayenne pepper
- 1/2 cup low-sodium beef bone broth
- 1 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped
- 1 tbsp avocado oil
Instructions:
- Pat the cube steaks thoroughly dry with paper towels to ensure a proper sear and prevent steaming.
- Lightly brush the steaks with Worcestershire sauce to act as a binder and tenderizer.
- In a shallow bowl, whisk together the whole wheat flour, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, and cayenne pepper.
- Dredge each steak in the seasoned flour mixture, shaking off any excess for a light, mahogany crust.
- Heat avocado oil in a large cast iron skillet over high heat until shimmering.
- Place steaks in the skillet and sear for 3 minutes per side until a deep crust forms and the interior is succulent.
- Remove steaks from the pan. Pour in the beef bone broth to deglaze, scraping up the browned bits (fond) to create a light pan sauce.
- Garnish with fresh parsley and serve immediately.
