Ingredients:

  • 1.5 lbs cube steak
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 cup whole wheat flour
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1/2 tsp cayenne pepper
  • 1/2 cup low-sodium beef bone broth
  • 1 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1 tbsp avocado oil

Instructions:

  1. Pat the cube steaks thoroughly dry with paper towels to ensure a proper sear and prevent steaming.
  2. Lightly brush the steaks with Worcestershire sauce to act as a binder and tenderizer.
  3. In a shallow bowl, whisk together the whole wheat flour, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, and cayenne pepper.
  4. Dredge each steak in the seasoned flour mixture, shaking off any excess for a light, mahogany crust.
  5. Heat avocado oil in a large cast iron skillet over high heat until shimmering.
  6. Place steaks in the skillet and sear for 3 minutes per side until a deep crust forms and the interior is succulent.
  7. Remove steaks from the pan. Pour in the beef bone broth to deglaze, scraping up the browned bits (fond) to create a light pan sauce.
  8. Garnish with fresh parsley and serve immediately.
