Ingredients:
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened (113g)
- 3/4 cup brown sugar, packed (150g)
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar (50g)
- 1 large egg, room temperature
- 1 tsp vanilla extract (5ml)
- 2 cups all-purpose flour (250g)
- 1 tsp baking soda (5g)
- 1/2 tsp salt (3g)
- 1/2 cup mini semi-sweet chocolate chips (85g)
- 1/2 cup mini M&M's (85g)
Instructions:
- Beat the softened butter, brown sugar, and white sugar together until the mixture looks pale and fluffy.
- Add the egg and vanilla extract, beating for another 60 seconds until the mixture resembles a smooth, light-brown frosting.
- Sift in the flour, baking soda, and salt; stir gently using a spatula just until no streaks of white flour remain.
- Fold in the mini chocolate chips and mini M&Ms by hand.
- Scoop rounded tablespoons of dough onto a parchment-lined baking sheet, spacing them 2 inches apart.
- Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 8–10 minutes until edges are light golden brown but centers still look slightly soft.
- Let the cookies rest on the hot pan for 5 minutes to firm up via carry-over cooking.
