Ingredients:
- 9 cups Rice Chex or Corn Chex cereal
- 1 cup Semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 0.5 cup Creamy peanut butter
- 0.25 cup Unsalted butter
- 1 tsp Pure vanilla extract
- 1.5 cups Powdered sugar
- 0.5 cup Red candy melts
- 0.5 cup Blue candy melts
- 1 cup White chocolate covered pretzels
- 1 cup Red, White, and Blue M&Ms
- 2 tbsp Patriotic sprinkles
Instructions:
- In a large microwave-safe bowl, combine the semi-sweet chocolate chips, creamy peanut butter, and unsalted butter. Heat in 30-second intervals, stirring between each, until the mixture is smooth and emulsified.
- Stir the vanilla extract into the melted chocolate mixture until it reaches a silky, ribbon-like consistency.
- Place the Rice Chex cereal in a large mixing bowl. Gently fold the chocolate mixture over the cereal using a rubber spatula until every piece is thoroughly coated, taking care not to break the cereal.
- Transfer the coated cereal into a gallon-sized Ziploc bag. Add half of the powdered sugar, seal, and shake vigorously. Let it rest for 2 minutes, then add the remaining sugar and shake again for a non-stick finish.
- Melt the red and blue candy melts separately. Spread the puppy chow on a parchment-lined baking sheet and drizzle with colors.
- Toss in the white chocolate pretzels, M&Ms, and patriotic sprinkles. Allow the mix to chill for 25 minutes until the coating is set and tacky.
