Ingredients:

  • 1 lb Mild or Spicy Italian Sausage (bulk/no casings)
  • 24 oz High-quality Marinara Sauce
  • 2 cloves Garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp Dried Oregano
  • 15 oz Whole Milk Ricotta Cheese
  • 1 large Egg, lightly beaten
  • 0.5 cup Grated Parmesan Cheese
  • 0.25 cup Fresh Parsley, chopped
  • 25 oz Frozen Cheese Ravioli
  • 2 cups Shredded Mozzarella Cheese
  • 0.5 tsp Red Pepper Flakes

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (200°C). In a large skillet over medium-high heat, brown the Italian sausage until it develops a deep, mahogany crust. Stir in the minced garlic and oregano for 60 seconds until fragrant. Pour in the marinara sauce and simmer for 5 minutes to concentrate the flavors.
  2. In a medium mixing bowl, whisk the egg, then fold in the ricotta cheese, grated parmesan, and chopped parsley until the mixture is thick and spreadable.
  3. Spread 1/2 cup of the prepared meat sauce across the bottom of a 9x13 inch baking dish. Arrange half of the frozen ravioli in a single, slightly overlapping layer over the sauce.
  4. Dollop the ricotta mixture over the ravioli layer and spread gently. Top with half of the remaining meat sauce, then the remaining frozen ravioli. Finish with the final layer of meat sauce and a generous covering of shredded mozzarella cheese.
  5. Cover the dish with aluminum foil and bake for 20 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 10 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbling and golden brown with crispy edges. Let rest for 5-10 minutes before serving.
