Ingredients:

  • 1.5 lbs boneless skinless chicken thighs, chopped into 1-inch pieces
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 2 tbsp neutral oil
  • 1/3 cup raw honey
  • 3 tbsp low-sodium soy sauce
  • 5 cloves garlic, freshly minced
  • 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar
  • 1 tbsp toasted sesame seeds
  • 2 green onions, thinly sliced

Instructions:

  1. In a medium bowl, toss the chicken pieces with all-purpose flour, salt, and black pepper until evenly coated. Shake off any excess starch.
  2. Heat the neutral oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat until shimmering.
  3. Add the chicken to the skillet in a single layer. Sear for 3–4 minutes undisturbed until a golden-brown crust forms, then flip and cook for an additional 3 minutes.
  4. In a small bowl, whisk together the honey, low-sodium soy sauce, minced garlic, and apple cider vinegar.
  5. Pour the sauce mixture over the chicken in the skillet. Toss continuously for 2-3 minutes as the sauce reduces and thickens into a glossy lacquer that clings to the meat.
  6. Garnish with toasted sesame seeds and sliced green onions before serving.
