Ingredients:

  • 10 cups popped popcorn
  • 1/2 cup M&Ms or candy corn
  • 2 tbsp orange or purple sanding sugar
  • 10 oz mini marshmallows
  • 3 tbsp salted butter
  • 1 drop food gel coloring

Instructions:

  1. Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Place the popped popcorn and candy mix-ins into a very large mixing bowl.
  3. Prepare cooking oil spray for shaping the balls later.
  4. Place the salted butter in a pot over medium-low heat until completely melted.
  5. Add the mini marshmallows and food gel coloring to the pot, stirring constantly until the marshmallows are completely smooth and velvety. Do not let the mixture boil.
  6. Immediately pour the melted marshmallow mixture over the popcorn and candy in the mixing bowl.
  7. Fold gently with a spatula until every kernel is evenly coated.
  8. Allow the mixture to cool for 2–3 minutes until warm but not scalding.
  9. Lightly spray hands with cooking oil. Scoop approximately 1/2 cup of the mixture and gently squeeze it into a ball.
  10. Roll each ball in sanding sugar or sprinkles and place on the parchment-lined baking sheet.
