Ingredients:

  • 1 cup (225g) unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup (200g) brown sugar, packed
  • 1/2 cup (100g) granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs, room temperature
  • 2 tsp (10ml) vanilla extract
  • 3 cups (375g) all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp (5g) baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp (3g) salt
  • 2 cups (340g) semi-sweet chocolate chips

Instructions:

  1. Beat the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar on medium-high for 2-3 minutes until pale and fluffy. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract.
  2. Whisk the flour, baking soda, and salt together in a separate bowl. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture on low speed, mixing only until the last streak of flour disappears. Fold in the chocolate chips by hand.
  3. Scoop rounded tablespoons of dough onto prepared baking sheets, spacing them 2 inches apart. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 7 to 9 minutes. Remove when edges are set and lightly golden, but centers still look soft. Let rest on the hot pan for 5 minutes.
