  • 2 fl oz (60 ml) Premium Vodka
  • 75 fl oz (22 ml) Freshly Squeezed Lime Juice
  • 5 fl oz (15 ml) Simple Syrup (1:1 sugar/water, optional)
  • 5 fl oz (45 ml) Plain Soda Water (low-carb)
  • 5 fl oz (45 ml) Chilled Club Soda or Seltzer (high-carb)
  • High-quality Ice Cubes (to fill glass)
  • 1 Lime Wheel or Wedge (for garnish)

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Glass: Fill the highball glass completely with ice cubes. Set aside to chill thoroughly while mixing the base.
  2. Juice the Lime: Ensure you have the exact measurement of fresh lime juice ready.
  3. Combine the Base: In a separate mixing glass (or cocktail shaker if preferred), combine the measured vodka, lime juice, and simple syrup (if using).
  4. Chill and Integrate: Add 3–4 cubes of ice to the mixing glass with the base ingredients. Stir vigorously with a bar spoon for 10–15 seconds to chill the mixture and slightly dilute it, ensuring the syrup is fully integrated.
  5. Strain and Pour: Empty the chilling ice from the highball glass (this prevents over-dilution). Refill the glass with fresh, clean ice. Strain the chilled vodka mixture into the prepared glass.
  6. Execute the Press: Gently pour the measured soda water (low-carb component) and then the club soda/seltzer (high-carb component) into the glass.
  7. Final Adjustment: Give the cocktail one gentle stir with the bar spoon—just enough to integrate the liquids without sacrificing the fizz.
