Ingredients:
- 8 oz block full-fat cream cheese, softened
- 1 cup full-fat sour cream
- 1/4 cup mayonnaise (optional)
- 1 oz packet dry ranch seasoning mix
- 1 1/2 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese
- 1/2 cup crumbled cooked bacon (optional)
- 1 Tbsp finely chopped fresh chives (for garnish)
Instructions:
- Ensure the cream cheese is fully softened. In a large mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, sour cream, and optional mayonnaise.
- Beat the mixture with an electric mixer on medium speed (or vigorously with a spatula/whisk) until the mixture is completely smooth, airy, and free of lumps.
- Add the entire packet of dry ranch seasoning mix to the cream base. Mix thoroughly until the seasoning is fully integrated and the mixture is uniformly flavored.
- Gently fold in the shredded cheddar cheese and the crumbled bacon (if using). Use a rubber spatula to mix, taking care not to overmix.
- Transfer the dip to the serving container, cover tightly, and refrigerate for a minimum of 1 hour (ideally 4 hours) to allow the flavors to meld and the seasoning to hydrate.
- Just before serving this perfect Boat Dip, garnish with freshly chopped chives or a sprinkle of paprika. Serve chilled with your favorite dippers.
