Ingredients:

  • 8 oz block full-fat cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup full-fat sour cream
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise (optional)
  • 1 oz packet dry ranch seasoning mix
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup crumbled cooked bacon (optional)
  • 1 Tbsp finely chopped fresh chives (for garnish)

Instructions:

  1. Ensure the cream cheese is fully softened. In a large mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, sour cream, and optional mayonnaise.
  2. Beat the mixture with an electric mixer on medium speed (or vigorously with a spatula/whisk) until the mixture is completely smooth, airy, and free of lumps.
  3. Add the entire packet of dry ranch seasoning mix to the cream base. Mix thoroughly until the seasoning is fully integrated and the mixture is uniformly flavored.
  4. Gently fold in the shredded cheddar cheese and the crumbled bacon (if using). Use a rubber spatula to mix, taking care not to overmix.
  5. Transfer the dip to the serving container, cover tightly, and refrigerate for a minimum of 1 hour (ideally 4 hours) to allow the flavors to meld and the seasoning to hydrate.
  6. Just before serving this perfect Boat Dip, garnish with freshly chopped chives or a sprinkle of paprika. Serve chilled with your favorite dippers.
