Ingredients:
- 4 tbsp unsalted butter
- 10 oz mini marshmallows
- 6 cups crisped rice cereal
- 2 drops yellow gel food coloring
- 2 drops orange gel food coloring
Instructions:
- Line a 9x9 inch baking pan with parchment paper, leaving an overhang on the sides for easy removal.
- Place the butter in a large non-stick pot over low heat until completely melted.
- Stir in the marshmallows, stirring constantly until the mixture is velvety and smooth. Remove from heat immediately to prevent the sugar from overcooking.
- Divide the melted marshmallow mixture evenly between three medium mixing bowls.
- In the first bowl, stir in the yellow gel food coloring and 2 cups of crisped rice cereal.
- In the second bowl, stir in the orange gel food coloring and 2 cups of crisped rice cereal.
- In the third bowl, stir in the remaining 2 cups of crisped rice cereal, leaving the mixture white.
- Pour the yellow mixture into the bottom of the prepared pan and press down gently. Repeat with the orange layer, then finish with the white layer on top.
- Use a piece of waxed paper to press the layers down firmly without smudging the colors.
- Allow the treats to cool completely for 30 minutes before cutting into 16 large bars.
